Korean Pop Music

Korean music is a big part of my life! Even though I am not Korean, I dont speak Korean, I dont read Korean and I definitely dont understand Korean, I still love Korean music! I first got hooked on Korean music when I saw the music video for a song called Ring Ding Dong by a boy band called SHINee. I was obsessed with SHINee! They were my first obsession! For months, I would always listen to their music and watch videos about them. My first Korean pop idol that I loved was Jonghyun, the lead singer of SHINee. I didnt want to get to attached to Korean music so I told myself that I would only like SHINee and I wouldnt listen to any other Korean music. My Korean music love started to die down, but it came back when I went to Montreal for Christmas. I showed my cousin all of SHINees videos and she loved them! I was browsing on youtube, when I came across a music video called Heartbreaker by a guy names G-Dragon. I fell in love with him and the song! I wanted to learn more about him and that lead me to Big Bang! G-Dragon is the leader of Big Bang. I started listening to Big Bang and I loved them! I loved their song Haru Haru. From then on, I started listening to random Korean boy bands but I never really paid any attention to the names of them... Until I came across MBLAQ. MBLAQ is amazing!!!! I love their whole group and all of their songs! They are so catchy and I totally fell in love with one of the members named Thunder. He became my favourite Korean pop idol of all time! To this day, I still love MBLAQ but I also have a new love, U-KISS! I dont really want to talk about U-KISS right now because Im really depressed about the departure of a member named Alexander. I actually think that I like him more than Thunder now! I already wrote a big post about Alexander so if you want to read about him, you can check that out. I also like other bands but I dont really know much about the members, I only know their songs. Like B2ST! I love their songs Soom (which means breathe), Shock, Bad Girl and Mystery. Right now, I am addicted to Supa Luv by Teen Top. I also started to like Korean girl bands. My favourite girl group is called 2NE1 because they are so different from all the other girl bands. They can sing tough, cool stuff but they can also sing soft, sweet songs. They can be very girly, but also very tom boyish. They are awesome! My favourite member of the group is Sandara Park. Its so weird because she is Thunders sister! I didnt even know that they were siblings when I started to like them! I also like songs by other girl groups like Bad Girl by Miss A (i learned the dance to the chorus), Gee by SNSD and much more!
